Vadim Zakharov, born in Dushanbe in 1959, lives and works in Berlin and Moscow. He is an artist, editor, collector, and archivist ofthe Moscow Conceptual art scene. Since 1978 he has been participating in exhibitions of unofficial art and has worked in collaboration with many artists: Victor Skersis, Sergei Anufriev, Andrei Monastyrski, Yuri Leiderman, Niklas Nitschke,among others. In 1982–83 Zakharov participatedin the Apt-Art Gallery, Moscow. Since 1992 he has been the publisher of Pastor magazine and the founder of Pastor Zond Editions. In 2006 he edited a book on the Moscow Conceptual School, and in 2008 he founded the website “Moscow Conceptualism Presented by Vadim Zakharov”
In 2003 Vadim Zakharov created the monument in Frankfurt-am-Main to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the philosopher Theodor Adorno.
