February 6, 2014. Stella Kesaeva, the president of Stella Art Foundation and commissioner of the Russian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, announced that the Pavilion artist at the 56th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia will be Irina Nakhova.

Explaining her choice, Stella Kesaeva said: "In 2011, Russia was represented in Venice by the curator Boris Groys and artist Andrei Monastyrski, both of them important figures in contemporary Russian culture. In 2013, the Pavilion artist was Vadim Zakharov, and the project was curated by Udo Kittelmann. In 2015, we will present the work of Irina Nakhova, a legendary figure in the Moscow art scene and author of Russia 's first ‘total installations’. It will also be the first time that the Russian Pavilion has hosted an individual project by a women artist."

Detailed information about the project and the curator of the Russian Pavilion will be provided at the end of 2014.
